My mistake, I read the instructions and thought that the last shop was on lvl 29. I completely missed the ... meaning there is a shop on all levels ending in 9.
Nevertheless, the farming is still very helpful at any point in time you are having trouble. I, for one, was unable to make it to the next shop and used the wings method to farm and am now able to go much further than before.

Knowing that the last shop is on level 29 and that you have 71 more levels until you have completed the game, I believe the best course of action to be to get to lvl 29 and vendor everything in your inventory, save for the artifacts you have collected, use your wings and begin again at lvl 19.
This way you restart with all the gold you collected and with all artifacts you found. Continue to rinse and repeat for many hours until you feel like you can take on the last 71 levels of the game.
